- take 4 ½ tablespoons of chocolate powder, or crush a chocolate puck (a pressed mixture of sweetened cacao nibs), in a pot with the molinillo
- pour in four cups of milk, and slowly simmer stirring occasionally until the chocolate has melted
- when completely melted, place the molinillo between your palms and spin vigorously for a few minutes until it’s good and frothy. The rings on the bottom of the molinillo twirl around whipping the beverage into a foam. (No Mexican chocolate is acceptable that is not foamy).
